I love going to the movies and have a Cinema Exhibitors' Association Card which entiles the person accompanying me to a free ticket.

I have used my card to allow friends free entry, my six year old niece free entry (believe me, her age makes her no less of a carer, holding drinks, opening doors, handing over the money for tickets – she’s amazing, but that’s another story) and when we went to the Odeon in Leicester Square it entitled my friend to a free ticket there too (worth £12.50 incidentally; criminally expensive but it was a one-off birthday treat).  I go to the cinema most weeks and sometimes more than once, so it’s been a big saver for me over the past year.

To apply for the card, you need to be in receipt of the Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance.  I had to send copies of my DLA entitlement letter with my application form.

Application forms are available from cinemas across the UK supporting this card or you can download one from www.ceacard.co.uk.  There is a processing fee of five pounds.
